Macramé is BACK in a big way! Come learn to make beautiful Macramé wall hangings by using various knotting techniques. These make a great addition to any small corner of your home or a sweet handmade gift! If you can tie your shoes, you can Macramé!
Join us for an fun time of creativity and positive energy as we learn together in a relaxed environment in the beautiful Good Morning Maxwell event space. This is a GREAT workshop to do with a friend because you can chat while you work!
Using 100% RECYCLED cotton rope we will create the two-tone bohemian chic wall hanging pictured here. Yes, I said recycled! Not only is this a beautiful DIY craft, but with my European sourced recycled cotton rope it is sustainable as well.
Feel free to bring any food or drinks you desire! I will not be serving shared food or drinks due to COVID 19. We will be working off clothing racks and you will be able to sit and/or stand while you work.
What techniques will you learn?
-Holding cord/dowel selection
-Tension and Cord counting
-Lark’s Head knot
-Half knot / Spiral Knot
What will you take home?
-A finished two-tone Macramé wall hanging (Size is approximately 12″ wide x 36″ long)
-List of local and online vendors
-If you get instantly hooked on Macramé like us, there will be macramé materials available for purchase
What colors can you choose from?
Terracotta, Blush, Sand, Coffee, Natural (off white), Mustard, Teal, Mint, and Silver. See photo with color selections. You can also select 2 of the same color if you would prefer your wall hanging to be just one uniform color! When you click “Register” you will be prompted to pick your Design Color and your Background Color. Check out our photo illustrating which is the background color and which is the design color. (Your rope will be pre-cut so PLEASE choose wisely)
About the Teacher
Rachel Scott is a local Fiber Artist and a lover of all things Bright and Beautiful! She is the owner of Brightly Braided, an online Etsy shop, and a wife and mama to 2 beautiful girls. She practices Macramé, loom weaving, and and various fiber arts. Rachel loves the energy of a room filled with creative and like-minded artists and crafters.
